Upgrade for Alberton Boulevard underway

Construction work will soon be taking place on the Alberton Boulevard, as it will receive an overall upgrade.

CONSTRUCTION work will soon be taking place in the Alberton Boulevard, going into the first phase of an overall upgrade.

“Businesses and residents of the area in the Alberton Boulevard, situated between Redruth and Fore streets, should note that there will eventually be renovation and upgrading work taking place,” said alderman Bruna Haipel, ward councillor for the area.

“As the ward councillor for the area, I have been requesting this upgrade for many years. My vision for a total upgrade of the whole boulevard area has not been entertained, and despite many arguments, the project will be implemented in phases,” Haipel added.

Residents must note that a section of the parking area will not be available until it has been renovated and customers will have to find alternative parking.

“I would like to thank all business owners who showed their support by sending letters to the ward committee member on economic development, Mr Gene Fivaz,” Haipel said.
