Cars recovered by Flying Squad in Thokoza

Germiston flying squad recovered to vehicles in Thokoza

MEMBERS of Germiston Flying Squad Sergeant Ronny Ramara and Constable Victor Mphaphuli recovered two stolen motor vehicles on August 1 in Tokoza while performing their duties.

They recovered a white Nissan NP200 bakkie that was stolen in the Alberton CBD. It was parked in Thokoza. The second vehicle, a Nissan H100 pick-up truck hijacked at Edenvale, was recovered at Everest, Tokoza.

The two vehicles that were recovered were taken to SAPS storage in Ryndeep.

SAPS would like to inform the community about the proper process of recovering stolen cars. “The community must know that if police recovered a stolen car or a hijacked vehicle, they will never call and demand the owner of the car to deposit the money in order to get their car back,” said Constable Ntombikayise Ngcobo, communication officer of the Germiston Flying Squad.

“If someone’s car was stolen or hijacked, and it was found, they can go to SAPS Storage Ryndeep. They will require an identity book, car papers and a proof of residence. No payment is needed in order to get the car back,” Ngcobo said.
