EMPD recovers drugs in Eden Park and Palmridge

Tip-off leads to discovery of dagga and mandrax tablets

EMPD’s Drug Enforcement Unit swooped on two houses in Palmridge and Eden Park on June 22, the addresses of which were provided by concerned members of those communities.

The information was that the two houses are involved in drug-dealing.

At around 10am the metro police entered a house on Terra Plain Street in Eden Park. They found 16 quarter mandrax and three half mandrax tablets. No arrests were made at the time as there was nobody home.

Metro Police entered the next address indicated by the community on Simphiwo Street in Palmridge Extention Four around 11am. Police recovered 1.7kg of dagga valued at approximately R4 000.

A 24-year-old Swazi national woman was arrested and detained at Eden Park Police Station. She is expected to appear in the Palmridge Magistrate’s Court soon to face charges of possession and dealing in dagga.
