Elusive double murderer apprehended in Brackendowns

Suspect wanted for a double murder since 2013 was found with R7 000 of drugs in his possession.

EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members executed a warrant arrest for a man on June 1 for a double murder committed in Alberton. The suspect has been eluding the police since November 2013. The suspect was apprehended in Brackendowns just after midday. He was found in possession of narcotics valued at R7 000.

Information at the disposal of the metro police pointed to the suspect being holed up in a house on Letaba Street in Brackendowns. The suspect was found in possession of 50 packets of nyaope and ten small rocks estimated to be worth R7 000.

The 40-year-old wanted suspect was detained at Brackendowns Police Station and charged with possession of illicit substances. He is expected to appear in the Palmridge Magistrate’s Court to face charges of the double murder as well as possession of drugs.
