ORMONDE – The winner of Mr South Africa, 32-year-old John Owens from Pretoria, a sales manager for a big property company, was announced at Gold Reef City Lyric theatre on November 7, 1st runner up was Matthew Cole Fincham and 2nd runner up Jaques Fagan.
They all proudly and gladly received their trophies on the night.
The night ended with, “Ladies and gentlemen your Mr South Africa 2013 is John Owens!” said Kriya Gangiah, MC for the evening, to loud applause from the enthusiastic crowd. John’s current venture, and what he plans to do with the Mr SA title, is unknown at present and as his journey continues, we hope to see all that he can bring to the table.
The crowd’s screams filled the room, and to the cover version of Lady Gaga’s ”The Edge of Glory” they made their way to the exit with social group interactions carried on close to midnight.
