Alberton Boulevard a nightmare for the disabled

Being in a wheelchair makes this journey even more treacherous and it is extremely difficult to traverse what to me are mountains.

I would like to bring everyone’s attention to the awful state of the paving on Alberton Boulevard. I went to the bank the other day and I struggled so much because I’m in a wheelchair and there is no way to get to the bank without having to go over massive pieces of broken concrete and paving everywhere.

I don’t even want to know how many people have been injured already, and how many more to come.

LIKE A BOMB WENT OFF: Paving on Alberton Boulevard.

Being in a wheelchair makes this journey even more treacherous and it is extremely difficult to traverse what to me are mountains.

This has been a problem in the Alberton Boulevard for many years and the municipality don’t seem to be doing anything about it.

Funny, when you drive through Palmridge and those types of areas all the roads are newly paved and pristine, but in the areas where the people who pay for all that (tax-payers) live, everything is left to ruin and they fix nothing.

It’s truly a disgrace.

“A paving contractor has been appointed to carry out the reconstruction of the paving in this financial year,” said Themba Gadebe, City of Ekurhuleni spokesperson.
