One seriously injured in head-on collision

The driver had to be extricated with the jaws of life and sustained serious injuries and three others sustained moderate injuries.

One person sustained serious injuries and three others sustained moderate injuries after two vehicles collided head-on in Eden Park in Alberton on December 17.

According to Ineke van Huyssteen, ER24 spokesperson, when ER24 arrived on the scene at 1.30pm, the driver of the one vehicle was trapped and had to be extricated with the Jaws of Life.

“Upon further assessment, it was found that one person had sustained serious injuries and three others had sustained moderate injuries.

“ER24 as well as another medical service on the scene transported the patients to hospital,” van Huyssteen said.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not yet known to the paramedics, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
