This week sees the arrival of a new movie at Nu Metro at The Glen.
THE blockbuster season for the December holidays is now in full flight with the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi this week, along with Jackie Chan’s new big screen feature.
The Last Jedi will be screened in the Xtreme cinema at Nu Metro The Glen. Star Wars: The Last Jedi (10-12PG V)
In Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the Skywalker saga continues as the heroes of The Force Awakens join the galactic legends in an epic adventure that unlocks age-old mysteries of the Force and shocking revelations of the past. This film also marks the final appearance of the late Carrie Fischer, who reprises her role as Leia in this new film.

The Foreigner (16 LV)
This new action flick stars Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan. Humble London businessman Quan’s long-buried past erupts in a revenge-fuelled vendetta when the only person left for him to love, his teenage daughter, is taken from him in a senseless act of politically-motivated terrorism. In his relentless search for the identity of the terrorists, Quan is forced into a cat-and-mouse conflict with a British government official whose own past may hold clues to the identities of the elusive terrorists.

Other movie releases to look out for at Nu Metro over the holidays include:
– Ferdinand (releases December 22) is an animated comedy adventure which has just received the Golden Globe nomination for best animated feature. After being mistaken for a dangerous beast, Ferdinand, a giant bull with a big heart, is captured and torn from his home. Determined to return to his family, he rallies a misfit team on the ultimate adventure.
– Pitch Perfect 3 (releases December 22): The Bellas – Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow and their crew (including Elizabeth Banks and Anna Camp) – as well as a few new appearances (John Lithgow and Ruby Rose) -return in the third instalment of the popular box office smash Pitch Perfect. After the highs of winning the world championships, the Bellas find themselves split apart and discovering there aren’t job prospects for making music with your mouth.
– Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (releases December 29): The game may have changed, but the legend stays the same; Jack Black, Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan star in this hilarious new action-adventure based on the popular story. When four teenagers in detention are sucked into the world of ‘Jumanji,’ they discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of.
– The Greatest Showman (releases on December 29): This new big budget movie is a biographical musical drama telling the real-life story of showman P. T. Barnum (Hugh Jackman), who founded the circus that became the famous travelling Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus. The Greatest Showman celebrates the birth of show business and tells of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation.
