Thank you ladies at Meyersdal Post Office

My preferred post office is the Meyersdal branch because of the wonderful service I get from Patricia and Zara.

I am a 78-year-old lady with a chronic chest problem.

My preferred post office is the Meyersdal branch because of the wonderful service I get from Patricia and Zara. They are always so helpful and friendly.

A while back the post office moved from the ground floor to upstairs and this makes things very difficult for me as I am not very mobile and the escalators never work and the lift breaks down all the time.

A few weeks ago I went to the post office, praying I could get my way up there without too much of a struggle.

Upon arrival, I discovered that yet again the lift and escalator wasn’t working and a young lady saw my dismay, at which point she kindly helped me up the stairs.

It took me a while to recover from the ordeal, but Patricia so sweetly came and helped me with purchasing stamps while I was sitting down.

Unbeknown to me, Eleanor (from the stationery shop downstairs) told the ladies to give her a call when I was finished so she could come up to help me down the stairs again, which she did.

Eleanor made sure I was safely and comfortably seated in my car and gave me an ice cold juice to drink.

I have never known such kindness and caring from a stranger before and would like to thank these ladies so much for their patience and help.

God bless you all.

To the centre management, I plead with you to please repair the escalators and lift.

I cannot be the only one who needs to use them.

I challenge you to have it in good working order by January 1, 2018.

Comment:

“The escalators at the Meyersdal Mall flooded with the severe rains we have had and are now involved in a battle with the insurance company to pay for the repairs for a long time. The cost is extremely high as they have to remove the escalators to do the necessary repairs and recommission the escalators as if doing a new installation, thus the delay.

“I am sending this correspondence to the company with whom we have a service contract in place where they go out once a month to service the lift so I will definitely get this seen to immediately.”
