FIFTEEN Karatekas from the Shin Gi Tai Karate Academy in Alberton recently took part at the 2017 Sansei Goju Ryu South African Championships. These championships were held at Sasolburg on October 20 and 21.
The 15 karatekas obtained 35 medals overall.
Senior Team:
Jacqueline Keller (three silver, one bronze), André van Jaarsveld (two silver, two bronze), Lynda Myburgh (one silver, two bronze), Quintun Swart (one gold, one silver), sensei Veronica van den Heever (one gold, one silver, one bronze) and Larissa Beukes (three silver).
Junior Team:
Kayla Beukes (one gold, one silver), Karlitza Blignaut (one silver, one bronze), Rynhardt Blignaut (one silver, one bronze), Juhandré Brienen (one bronze), Jeandré van Jaarsveld (one gold, one silver, one bronze), Luhann Raaths (one gold, one silver), Abigail Leite (one gold, one silver) and Xavier Boshoff (one bronze).
