Woman killed after crashing into tree in Alberton

She was declared dead on the scene.

A woman, believed to be 35-years-old, was killed after her vehicle crashed into a tree and caught alight on the R554 just after the N3 bridge in Alberton on Wednesday, September 13.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene at 10:15pm, the vehicle was on fire and almost burnt out. The fire brigade arrived shortly afterwards and extinguished the fire. It is believed that the woman was removed from the vehicle shortly after the crash by members of the public.

Upon further assessment, paramedics found the woman to be in a critical condition. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts to resuscitate her, she succumbed to her multiple injuries. She was declared dead on the scene.

The exact circumstances of the incident are not yet known to our paramedics but local authorities were on the scene.
