Local Charity gets a massive boost

Anderson Transport got all their suppliers and staff involved, where everyone would put a donation towards this worthy charity.

BROKEN Wings has received a very generous donation to assist those who cannot help themselves.

On September 1, Anderson Transport put a spring in the steps of many (and that on Spring Day!) when they donated R170 500 to the organisation.

GREAT CAUSE: Edwin Harper (front right) from Anderson Transport hands over the cheque to Sheryl Swanepoel from Broken Wings. Behind them are some of those who receive care from Broken Wings.

Broken Wings, a non-profit organisation that cares for those with mental and physical challenges, is reliant on donations as they get no help from the government.

Anderson Transport looks at helping a different charity every year and when the company was told about Broken Wings, they set out to raise funds for them. Not only did they reach their target but they overshot it.

“We like to help the underprivileged. We love to do these initiatives where we get to make a difference and hopefully this money will help to ease the immense pressure and financial burden that Broken Wings has to deal with on a daily basis,” says Edwin Harper, Anderson Transport’s marketing manager.

Anderson Transport got all their suppliers and staff involved. Everyone donated towards this worthy charity.

After the handover of the cheque, Anderson Transport treated the Broken Wings “family” to a day of fun in the sun. They had a yummy braai and also received ice-cold cool drinks.

WHAT A TREAT: Folks from Broken Wings enjoying the sunny Spring Day.

“I cannot tell you how much this means to us. This will be such a big help to us and we will be forever grateful to Anderson Transport, their staff and suppliers who have such big, kind hearts,” said Sheryl Swanepoel who lovingly runs Broken Wings.
