Last wishes campaign: Brought To You By Stepping Stone Hospice

Stepping Stone Hospice launches ‘Last Wishes’ campaign

In a bid to illustrate some of behind-the-scenes work that Stepping Stone Hospice does, as well as to encourage people to donate to the organisation, the Marketing and Fundraising team at Stepping Stone is embarking on an eight-week-long campaign that will highlight some of the last wishes of patients that the hospice has been able to help come true.

Says Stepping Stone Hospice’s Fundraising Manager, Marietjie Tame: “It was important for me to put a ‘face’ to our hospice – to share with the community the real work we do at our hospice; the work that so often leaves us in tears, yet at the same time grateful that we’ve helped someone ‘live until they die’. Because that is what Stepping Stone Hospice is about and that is why we need support; so that we never falter on the quality of our services and the commitment to our patients. With this campaign that allows people to donate via an SMS line, I also hope that the community will understand that it is not necessarily huge amounts that matter and that as little as R30 per SMS will help us stay true to our word.”

The campaign will roll out on several platforms to ensure as much coverage as possible, so people can expect to see the ads in the local press, on social media, on YouTube, delivered via email, as well as featured on a billboard outside Stepping Stone’s In-Patient Unit in New Market Park.

“We are so excited to see this campaign play out,” says Stepping Stone’s Marketing Manager, Kerry Johnston. “Many hours have gone into putting it all together and we’ve been fortunate to work with the most amazing people, who have helped to bring it all to life and make it possible for us to get our message out there. The wishes we’ll be featuring have touched us all, and we are grateful to the families of the patients involved for allowing us to tell their stories.”
