ON June 30 Wigie Luwigian Kok was found guilty of murder in the Johannesburg High Court and sentenced to a total of 31 years.
“On July 23, at 2.20pm at Rolls Street, Bernard David Dadoo was shot and killed by Wigie Kok with an unlicensed firearm. Const Rodgers Mntungwa was assigned as investigating officer and his efforts resulted in a conviction,” said Capt Emmanuel Jele.
Const Mntungwa reported that Kok was charged with murder, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.
“On June 30, the accused appeared in Court 4D at Johannesburg High Court and was found guilty of all three charges. He was sentenced to 18 years imprisonment for murder, 10 years for unlawful possession of a firearm and three years for unlawful possession of ammunition.
“The sentence will run concurrently,” Mntungwa said.
“I am happy justice has been served and that this case came to an end,” Capt Jele told the RECORD.
