Motorcyclist critical after accident on Swartkoppies

The victim was airlifted to a hospital in Randfontein and was initially in a critical condition.

A MOTORCYCLIST was seriously injured when he was involved in an accident on the corner of Swartkoppies Road and Poets Street, Alberton.

The accident occurred on Sunday morning, June 25, when the rider was travelling on Swartkoppies Road and struck a bakkie that was allegedly making an illegal U-turn into Swartkoppies from Poets Street.

CRITICAL: The helicopter at the scene before the injured motorcyclist was taken to the hospital.

The victim was airlifted to a hospital in Randfontein and was initially in a critical condition; his current condition is unknown. Investigations are underway.

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Traffic Division could not be reached for comment.
