EMM delivers – are you kidding?

Open your eyes to the vast number of things still unattended to and you will know that EMM is not delivering.

So I stumble upon this little article, I can’t remember where, and it states EMM delivers. Well you must be kidding!

CUT THE RED TAPE: Just one of many sites in the Alberton Boulevard where the job just does not get done.

Fixing one pothole is anything but delivering. What about all the other problems in our town, such as the numerous potholes in every suburb of Alberton still not fixed, and the shoddy workmanship where they fix a pothole or two and then the same old potholes just re-open, only bigger and deeper?

INDUSTRIAL GIANT: Businesses in Alrode struggle with issues such as blocked drains and dumping to keep their doors open.

Then there is the constant blocking of drains, leaking water pipes, street lights not working, people loitering all over and the non-existence of proper painted lines in the oh so many streets where you have to sometimes hope you are in the correct lane because honestly, you just can’t be sure!

What about the problems in Alberton North, where people repair cars on the street corners to the detriment of homeowners whose property values keep falling due to this practice?

FREE FOR ALL: Business owners in the Alberton Boulevard need to fight the free enterprise of hawkers while paying their dues in rates and taxes.

And you want to tell us, the residents of Alberton, that EMM delivers? Seriously?

Open your eyes to the vast number of things still unattended to. Open your eyes to a boulevard that is a complete mess – paving not being maintained, hawkers being allowed to sell their goods in the boulevard while shop owners must pay their dues, not only in rent but also in rates and taxes. On top of that, they still need to fight their competitors in the business of free enterprise in the Boulevard.

Things like these make me wonder if there are by-laws which hold the EMM accountable to take the perpetrators to task.

Alrode, which is one of the financial hubs keeping the EMM alive, has a number of problems ranging from massive potholes and water leaks to no electricity. How do you do business without electricity in an industrial area?

Again, really – EMM delivers – what a joke!

Not joking

The RECORD has reported on all of the above on numerous occasions. With the help of our community, we will keep the pressure on not only the EMM but also our councillors, to fight for the rights of our residents.
