Have a blast at the JURA obstacle race

Besides being a fun day out, obstacle course races like the Hollard JURA come packed with benefits.

THE Hollard Jozi Urban Run Adventure (JURA) will be taking place on May 27, at Marks Park, turning Johannesburg into one big obstacle course for you to enjoy.

Besides being a fun day out, obstacle course races like the Hollard JURA come packed with benefits.

It’s good for your body

Completing an obstacle course race works your whole body. You’ll work out for a shorter period of time and gain more benefits than during your usual gym workout. The constant running and variety of obstacles will have you burning fat, building muscle and strengthening your heart – all while having fun.

It’s good for your mind

When you’re running, jumping, climbing and crawling, there’s no time to worry. Obstacle course races are a great way to take your mind off all your problems. Feeling angry? These races give you an opportunity to redirect that energy in a positive way, using it as fuel to tackle the obstacle in front of you. Plus, spending time in nature decreases stress, recharges the brain, and improves your mood. So, while tackling the obstacle course, you’ll get a heaping dose of nature, plus your daily dose of vitamin D.

RUN: An obstacle race can give you renewed self-confidence.

It’s good for your social life

Obstacle courses are a great opportunity to bond with friends, family or complete strangers! These kinds of races bring people together; whether it’s through offering a helping hand to a stranger, sharing a laugh on a particularly awkward obstacle or giving someone much needed encouragement. It’s hard to walk away from an obstacle course race without making some new friends.

It’s good for your soul

Whatever your goals are, completing an obstacle race can give you renewed self-confidence and increase your ability to overcome anything. Crossing that finish line is a feeling like no other; you’ll leave with a deep sense of accomplishment and renewed motivation to become a healthier person.

Want to experience these benefits for yourself? Sign up for the Hollard JURA. Start slow with the 6km or go all the way with the 18km adventure – each distance comes complete with awesome, and completely optional, obstacles.
