Drug dealers busted

SAPS Alberton showed no mercy after they caught suspects dealing with dagga.

VERVOERDPARK – Six suspects were arrested for dealing with dagga in Bloutulp Road, Vervoerdpark on October 12.

All suspects who were on the premises were arrested, although according to SAPS members, only two of the suspects confirmed their dealings with these drugs.

Alberton SAPS received a tip-off and was closely monitoring the house. On this day they decided to do special operations and raided the house.

The police found about R25 000 worth of marijuana in a hole which was dug up in the kitchen and also found bottled dagga in the backyard toilet.

SAPS members were keeping a close eye on two male suspects who were walking around with lots of money. They followed the two to the house and noticed one of them constantly walking in and out of the house.

Some of the dagga was set to be delivered to Port Elizabeth.

It is bad enough that this amount of marijuana was found, but the house is located within walking distance of Laerskool President Steyn and Hoërskool Alberton.

  2. Thanks to the SAPS for doing such a Great Job with this raid and I sincerely hope it is not the last one.

  3. A Job well done by those who take their responsibilities serious. It is time that Alberton community stand together with SAPS and CPF to take back our community. No place for criminals – we need to know that our kids are able to be kids and that our families will be safe.

  4. good work saps. alberton is like a huge drughouse and something definetely needs to be done about this. keep it up saps

  5. dis snaaks hoe dagga nog nooit ooit enige iemand doodgemaak het ni. glo my ni, gan doen navorsing. saps moet eder regte crime gan fight. stop targeting the weak. wat van tik? dis nou n gemors wat mense dood maak.

  6. All this means is that the selling price of that sweet bud just doubled. You think the cops just keep all that stuff in a big warehouse somewhere?

  7. Because of course dagga is the worst crime of them all! Why would the cops want to focus on trivial things like rape and murder and government fraud when there is all this big bad dagga going around? I’d rather drive home drunk and dikgepill with a stranger in my car who is going to give me money for a rock! So i might not get arrested, like.

    Word wakker mense.

  8. If only they focused on actual crime.
And everyone’s like “yaaay good job”

By the way did you know know that marijuana is one of the most effective anti depressants around?
Or that it’s one of the most versatile plants around?

Not like they were out beating the hell out of the wives of unpaid miners.

  9. No deaths have ever been directly caused by the use or abuse of Cannabis in over 10 000 years. Its a plant!! how can a plant be illegal?? That must have been some bad dagga seeing all the pigs it took to confiscate it. Dis 100% fine as mense gan suip en mekaar opneuk en papa kom dronk by di huis aan en slaan vir vrou lief pot blou, dis alles reg, drank kan maar wettig bly! Julle mense moet wakker word.
Many people die from alcohol use. Nobody dies from marijuana use.
People die from alcohol overdoses. There has never been a fatal marijuana overdose.
Alcohol use damages the brain. Marijuana use does not.
Alcohol use is linked to cancer. Marijuana use is not.
en dit gan aan en aan!
di saps is di mees useleste goed op aarde, di pizza delivery guy is viniger!
    doen n slag julle werk.

  10. The cops, AKA powerless control freaks if you just did a little research on psychology. Thinking they doing society a favor by targeting the weak to finally get a good report in the paper. From my heart i tell you that’s pathetic! Who in there right mind would pick a job that puts innocent people in jail. Only the real faggots.

  11. As a relatively harmless substance compared to even alcohol and tobacco, dagga should be legalized so the police can focus their time and resources on real crimes, murder/rape etc.

Dagga prohibition creates a huge business opportunity for criminals, its a war against a plant that will never be won.

  12. Marijuana could be the cure for ADD/ADHD, a disorder invented by Big Pharma which is really just a symptom of the human condition. Instead they pump children full of drugs to zombify them, drugs which continue to be taken (and often abused) in adulthood. Once the fluctuating chemical state of the brain has settled during early adulthood, a good sativa is the number one medication for any ‘disorder’

  13. Wow what a bunch of cowards! Go bust some crack houses or are you to scared? Yes real criminals shoot back so you wont be seeing any cops fighting real crime soon.

  14. we eh eh we eh are eh fighting these drug dealers eh yes eh we do not tolehrate eh these crimaanels.

  15. Why don’t the police focus this hard to take down the guys that sell heroin, crack, meth, coke, cat etc?! Dagga can’t kill you, yet they waste their time on people that sell it. They should dedicate their time more to things that actually matter

  16. Something that is keeping the hate against the green alive is this ridiculous ‘gateway drug’ stigma. Legalize it and that will go away. Because a ‘drug dealer’ is a guy that will sell your laaitie dagga on his way home from school, next week he sells him maybe a button, and the week after that he sells him straw full of tik. This is a far cry from your benign local rasta or a harmless plant in your garden. With legalization there will be methods to REGULATE the substance. It will be less easy for dodgy characters to target kids. When you know that something is legal, even only at a certain age, you somehow don’t need to go to such great lenghts to obtain it. Weed is not a gateway drug. Alcohol is a gateway deathtrap and should be illegal.

  17. I agree with Gawie, because it is only ever dagga you see taken in these raids. Where are the real drugs then?

  18. Weed is medicine. South Africa should wake up and legalize/decriminalize it. Allot of countries have already made it legal. wake the f up. Go catch a drug dealer… not a healer

  19. Come on! Why don’t you rather go after the tik and crack dealers and leave the weed alone. It’s high time this government woke up and legalised marijuana. It is not a gateway drug, that is just a myth promoted by the naysayers. I have been smoking weed for 12 years now, and not even once have I felt the urge to do myself in with crack cocaine – or even look at it for that matter.

With the taxes raised from weed, we could cover the cost of flipping GFIP with no need for e-tolls, and have change left over to build some schools, and maybe buy some text books to put inside them.

  20. This is so disheartening to see – when are the ignorant masses going to really open their eyes and realise what marijuana really is? That is, a substance that has helped many overcome depression, cured cancer, reduced tumour size and the list goes on. BUT NO, dit is mos te veel moeite om navorsing te gaan doen oor iets. Dis veeeel makliker om net wat ander se te vat as wet. Ridiculous. Open your eyes people – marijuana needs to be legalised, and the SAPS are just wasting valuable resources that could be used to fight more serious crime – not that the use or possession of marijuana should be a crime in any part of our beautiful world.

  21. makes me sick ,instead of going after real criminals our government are making prohibition almost the biggest scheme in sa

  22. One of the reasons South Africa criminalized weed in the first place was because it ‘made black people believe they’re as good as white people’.. Since affirmative action is everywhere, why is this stupid outdated law still in use? Look at how proud they all look in the photo. Its pathetic. They might say they’re just doing their job, but when someone broke into our flat, took EVERYTHING and left their knife behind (just incase we woke up) the police said there’s nothing they can do about it. Great job South Africa!

  23. Im impressed by most of the comments on here. People’s minds are definitely changing bit by bit and slowly realizing drug prohibition causes more harm than the drugs itself.

  24. This horticulture report, brought to you by the SAP. Proudly supporting gansterism and drug cartels, through the prohibition of dagga.

  25. This is just another way for “the man” to try and keep us down! How is it possible to make a plant that does way more good than bad illegal? It can be used to treat cancer, manufacture paper and other materials and all this at a fraction of the current cost!! It’s time the government wakes up and realizes that the country can make millions from this beautiful plant!!!

  26. I see a whole lot of weed, i do not see drugs! where is there drugs in this picture???

  27. Are you being serious here? We are taking about weed, not herion or Tik, Just remember its our tax money you are using, and the public want real drugs not some petty drug that countries around the world are making legal! Stop using people as scapegoats! People have had enough of it!

  28. Are the drugs behind the cops and the plants they are holding? If,not why are they wasting their time while there are actual crimes involving victims going on??

  29. Ek ken polisie wat weed verkoop so hulle vat seker van die dagga wat by raids gekry word en maak extra geld op so manier

  30. While our women and children are being raped in the streets, while dictators waste away tax money on Nandos and while good men are brutally murdered day in and day out. Our wonderful police see a bigger threat in cannabis than anything else wrong with this country. Well done on your mission to making the streets.. Safer? A mockery to criminal justice, that is what police are.

  31. If citizens want to see change, please google Dagga Party and mobilise.

The SAP must start waking up to the truth about Cannabis, because the law they are enforcing is based on lies. google “cannabis cures cancer,” officers, and realise that you are denying rights to health and life.

  32. “Thanks to the SAPS for doing such a Great Job with this raid and I sincerely hope it is not the last one.” (Cheryll the sheep) – It must really suck to live in absolute ignorance, without the ability to think or research for yourself. I truly do feel sorry for you. As for the SAPS, well done…on making fools of yourselves yet again.

  33. These word “ignorance” and “sheep” get thrown around very liberally. You do realize that it works both ways. All you addicts throwing around wrong information in an attempt to pursuade people that weed is god’s gift to humanity, go fnid a legal substance to abuse and let the police do their job. Which they did in the article.

  34. God created all and man destroys. Pushing is idealogy on others forcing them to do as he wish. Stay with God my children. DO NOT DESTROY THE LORDS PLANTS !! If you hate weed you hate God and if u hate God u are my enemy. Peace and love to all

  35. For those who think dagga is bad or wrong go home and think about this…
Would you want your mom sister or aunt or gran to be raped and noone can help because the police are catching ppl for weed. So whilst this arrest was going on 2 woman were raped a man was muderered and 3 cars were stolen.

    GET A BRAIN !! idiots

  36. It’s the COPS that are the criminals here. The SAPS should be ashamed of themselves … go and catch some real criminals ! Please google the dagga couple and educate yourselves about this health-giving plant.
