Van Heerden back in the boxing ring

Busy time in April at Box Office.

FORMER EFC, Extreme Fighting Championship, heavyweight, Danie van Heerden has migrated back to the code of boxing and will soon step back into the ring.

Van Heerden will now box out of the Box Office camp under the watchful eyes of Anton Gilmore and Raymond Cerfonteyn. Making his first appearance as a heavyweight boxer he will faces-off with Kenneth Nkosi this coming Friday, March 31.

Danie is the brother of the well-known Chris van Heerden, former IBO welterweight champion and winner of the WBA Pan Africa welterweight title in 2016.

The Box ‘n Dine will be held at the Ekurhuleni Indoor Sports Centre where Van Heerden and Kenneth will be in action in a four rounder.

Van Heerden’s sparring partner, Warren le Roux, who will have his third outing in the heavyweight division will take on Wikus Ludike over four rounds.

FULL CARD FOR APRIL: The Box Office will have its hands full during April as their boxers feature in a couple of tournaments. Warren le Roux, Jade Karam, Tasha Thesner, Raymond Cerfonteyn, Anton Gilmore, Mandla Mpofu, Troy de Paiva, Fiston Kabamba and Lewis Bukasa have their work cut out for them.

The main draw card will be between Gideon Buthlelezi and Angel Aviles, from Mexico, fighting for the IBO junior bantamweight title.

“We are very blessed at the Box Office, as all our professional boxers will be in action in the next few months,” said Gilmore, trainer/manager at the Box Office.

“We have a full month in April and will also stage two tournaments which will keep my boxers busy.”

The first of these is a White Collar event, on May 4, at Wemmer Pan, and the second will take place on June 4 and is a professional tournament.

Jade Karam and Wade Groth, who will be making his debut, are some of Box Office’s prospects. Karam and Groth will both feature at the Hunter’s Tournament on April 6. Karam will take on Wynand Mulder in the middleweight division. Tasha Thesner and Fiston Kabamba will show their skills at the tournament on April 28, at Carnival City.

Troy de Paiva, who made his debut in 2016, will have his chance on April 23 for his second fight. Mandla Mpofu, who fought on Saturday, March 25, and Lewis Bukasa will have other fights coming their way in the near future.
