EMM call centre should take residents’ calls

Is it that difficult to get a call centre running properly?

FOR days, I have been trying to call the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) call centre number – 086 0543 000, but to no avail.

The calls go as far as: “your call will be answered by the next available agent.” And that is where everything stops.

My municipal accounts have not been delivered in January and February and I would like to know what the state of my accounts are, but when I’m late with my accounts they charge me interest. Is it that difficult to get a call centre running properly?

They really need to sort themselves out.

The RECORD has received many such complaints and we have asked the EMM for comment, but they did not respond to our requests.
