FOX Security staff apprehended a suspect, believed to have been involved in robberies in the area, on Friday, October 28.
The security company received a call from a woman who claimed that she had just had her cellphone stolen by a man pretending to sell clothes.
Frikkie Whitehorn, from the tactical unit, and reaction officer Adrian Richards were dispatched and, after being tipped off about the direction in which the suspect had fled, Frikkie chased down and caught him.
Bank cards, cellphones and a driver’s licence were found in the man’s possession.
Alberton SAPS were contacted and Fox Security handed over the suspect to them upon their arrival.
