Body found in river in Meyerton

The body of an adult male was recovered in the river in Henly on Klip.

The body of a man believed to have been in a river for some time was recovered earlier today.

ER24 paramedics were alerted about a body in a river in Henley on Klip in the Meyerton area.

Upon arrival paramedics found the body hooked by a tree branch. The body had then dislodged. Paramedics and Midvaal Fire and Rescue used a rubber canoe to get to and retrieve the body.

The man is believed to be about 30 years of age.

It is believed that the man could have been in the water for at least two days.

An autopsy would have to be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Authorities were on scene.
