Help Comfort Pack Project make a difference

The organisation is now in urgent need of assistance with donations.

THE COMFORT Pack Project is aimed at helping survivors of rape and abuse.

These include women, men and children. Rape survivors are provided with essential items to assist them during the initial reporting phases at hospitals, crisis centres or police stations.

Once a statement is taken and the medical examination is completed, the rape survivor will be given the opportunity to clean up.

These packs contain essential toiletry items as listed below. Any clothing containing DNA will be kept as evidence, so clean underwear is an essential item in the bags. Where possible, additional clothing or a blanket is also provided to the centres.

The items needed are body lotion, small notebook, bottled water, soap, brown paper bags, soft toys, chips or snacks, surgical gloves, colouring-in books, sweets, colouring pencils or crayons, tissues, cool drink, toothbrush, deodorant, toothpaste, face cloth, underwear for women, men and children, hair comb and brush, hair elastics and clips, Vaseline, lip balm, wet wipes, sanitary towels, pen or pencil, shampoo and plasters.

For more information, or to make donations, please contact Alta McMaster on 082 940 6230, or e-mail to info@epicfoundation.org.za
