Win Nu Metro Movie Tickets: Sully

Sully will be screened in full 4K-glory on the giant Scene Xtreme-screen at The Glen’s cineplex

TOM Hanks’ new blockbuster, ‘Sully’ makes an impressive landing at Nu Metro The Glen from this Friday, September 9 (along with other cinemas nationwide).

‘Sully’ will be screened in full 4K-glory on the giant Scene Xtreme-screen at The Glen’s cineplex. This means that cinemagoers will be able to see this inspired new film in Ultra High Definition (UHD): the highest resolution-quality possible for cinema screens. Standard movie shows are in 2K HD – 4K therefore means double the digital perfection. The screenings for ‘Sully’ will also be showcased with booming digital 360-degree sound (including overhead speakers) along with superior digital projection.

The Scene Xtreme 4K experience ensures crisp, clear visuals that bring viewers as close as possible to the real action on-screen – in this instance, a disabled airplane gliding through the air attempting to make an emergency landing on the Hudson River in the middle of New York City The reproduction and ultimate projection of 4K UHD require lots of technical expertise to present cinemagoers with an ultra-real delight of visual splendour.

‘Sully’ reveals the untold story behind the Miracle on the Hudson. On January 15, 2009, the world witnessed the Miracle on the Hudson, when Captain Sully Sullenberger (Tom Hanks) glided his disabled plane onto the frigid waters of the Hudson River, saving the lives of all 155 aboard. However, even as Sully was being heralded by the public and the media for his unprecedented feat of aviation skill, an investigation was unfolding that threatened to destroy his reputation and his career.

Directed by iconic cinema master Clint Eastwood, ‘Sully’ guarantees a quality night of suspense and drama at the movies. Scene Xtreme, exclusive to select Nu Metro cinemas, now enhances the experience of this new film; effectively representing the director’s work at its best. Scene Xtreme takes a standard movie night out and pushes it to the ultimate level of enjoyment.

“This is a story of people acting together, selflessly, to get something really important done. Giving everyone a chance to have hope, at a time when we all needed it,” said Sullenberger, the real-life inspiration for the film. From the start, he wanted the film to encompass “that sense of our own common humanity”.
