Watch Joburg Today's interview with Mari Harris, Director: Public Affairs at IPSOS South Africa about the municipal elections results.
Joburg Today caught up with Harris to talk about their predictions for the Municipal Elections. Harris and her team of researchers conducted face-to-face interviews with voters around Johannesburg. Their research in Johannesburg found that ANC would take 46%, DA 41% and EFF 8% of the votes.
“I think it’s within the margin of error. It’s easy to remember that survey’s are not an exact science. Of course we don’t speak to every citizen in the country and depending on how good your sampling is, you can say this is representatives of the people in the country.”
Harris says she spoke to the IEC earlier today and found out that they have a model where as soon as results come in, they feed them into the model and it comes up with the possible outcome.
