Win Nu Metro Movie Tickets: ‘Lights Out’

When Rebecca (Teresa Palmer) left home, she thought she left her childhood fears behind. Growing up, she was never really sure of what was and wasn’t real when the lights went out.

‘LIGHTS Out’ darkens the room at Nu Metro The Glen (and other cinemas nationwide) from Friday, July 22.

The film comes from producer James Wan (best known for his masterly take on the horror genre with ‘The Conjuring’). Swedish director David F Sandberg’s involvement in the project, making his feature film directorial debut with ‘Lights Out’, comes about after he had created an unnerving three-minute short film of the same name, on which the film is based.

The award-winning short took the internet by storm in 2013, garnering over 150 million views and catching the attention of the film’s producers with Sandberg’s fresh and unique directing style.

‘Lights Out’ tells a tale of an unknown terror that lurks in the dark.

When Rebecca (Teresa Palmer) left home, she thought she left her childhood fears behind. Growing up, she was never really sure of what was and wasn’t real when the lights went out. And now, her little brother, Martin (Gabriel Bateman), is experiencing the same unexplained and terrifying events that had once tested her sanity and threatened her safety. A frightening entity with a mysterious attachment to their mother, Sophie (Maria Bello), has re-emerged with a vengeance to torment the entire family.

But this time, as Rebecca gets closer to unlocking the truth, there is no denying that all their lives are in danger, once the lights go out.

With an intense, heart-pounding style, a strong female lead, and a terrifying but all-too-plausible story rooted in the secrets and bonds of families, ‘Lights Out’ will appeal to horror fans and to broader audiences seeking a fun, scary experience at the movies. It will make them jump in their seats and leave the lights on long after they leave the cinema. This quality horror promises an undeniably spine-chilling outing at the movies.
