TWELVE people were left injured after a bus overturned on the Eikenhof service lane parallel to the R82 in Eikenhof, South of Johannesburg.
Allegedly, the bus driver lost control around a blind bend which resulted in the collision. The bus had 24 passengers, including the driver.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found that the injuries that were sustained ranged from minor to serious. ER24 treated and transported a total of four patients to Lilian Ngoyi Hospital for further treatment. The remaining patients were treated and transported by other medical services on scene.
Traffic in the area was seriously affected as there is a school on the same road and the collision occurred in peak hour traffic. Local traffic services were on scene to help direct traffic and traffic is now moving smoothly in the area.
The cause of the collision is unknown. Local authorities were on scene for further investigation.
