CGA senior champs

CGA senior championships will be held at Germiston Stadium.

Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) will be hosting the Provincial Senior Championships on March 19 at Germiston Stadium.

As per CGA selection criteria, athletes need to have participated in at least two of CGA league meeting plus the upcoming provincial championships to make team. The selection will be based on the latest Athletics South Africa qualifying standards.

The organisers are expecting to see the likes of Rashawl Samaai on long jump who holds a personal best of 8.38m placed at last year’s national championships in Stellenbosch, the Phalula twins on 1 500m and 800m, with Lebogang Phalula making her comeback after a mini break caused by a tendon injury and Sibusiso Nzima who recently qualified for the Rio Olympics in August, and Folavio Sehohle on 5 000m as well as the elite of athletes from CGA’s elite.

It is set to be quite a competitive day of activity and hopefully filled with world class performance from the athletes.
