Water pressure problems in Meyersdal

A Meyersdal resident has complained about the water pressure in the area.

MEYERSDAL – According to the resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, they have been experiencing low water pressure since June 11. When he originally contacted the Ekurhuleni Metro Municipality (EMM), they informed him that there was a burst water pipe in the area and it will take three days to repair.

On June 25, when he contacted the RECORD, he said that they are still having problems with the water pressure and that they are unable to get any answers from the municipality.

When EMM was contacted about the matter, they responded by saying that there were a number of burst pipes in the area, between June 17 and June 19, and they had to lower the water pressure in order to stabilise the water supply.

“Although the pressure was lower, it was still above the average supply pressure for households and nobody was without water,” said Themba Gadebe, EMM spokesperson.

He also added that the pressure has been increased again and that it should be sufficient to all users.

If you are still experiencing problems with your water pressure, contact the municipality either on their call centre line on 0860 543 000 or lodge a complaint on their website.
