Clean water for Stepping Stone Hospice

Knowing that their patients will receive clean and safe water is something for which Stepping Stone Hospice is grateful.

ALBERTON-  Thanks to Absolutely Pure Water, the hospice can now rest assure that their patients won’t suffer from any illnesses which they could pick up from contaminated water.

The Environmental Protection Agency has on record that 90 per cent of the world’s water supply is unfit for drinking without some sort of treatment.

Water may contain micro-organisms that can cause diarrhoea, vomiting and even death.

Water filters reduce the risk of gastrointestinal disease by more than 33 per cent, by removing cryptosporidium and giardia from drinking water.

Jakkie Bezuidenhout, manager of Absolutely Pure Water, in Voortrekker Road, Alberton, and the operations manager, Chris Fourie, recently donated a water filter system to the Stepping Stone Hospice In-Patient Unit, in New Market Park. “We know from personal experience that this hospice offers an essential service to our community, to our loved ones, and this is a small gesture to say thank you and to help wherever we can,” Chris says.
