Thursday night. February 19, was like any other night for the two CPF security guards at Eden Park Primary. At about 02:00 it changed into an unforgettable frightful night for them.
It is alleged that two armed men wearing balaclavas stormed into the guard house. “They quickly tied our hands and feet and assaulted us. Then took our cellphones and personal belongings while kicking us repeatedly,” the one guard said.
“They broke the door of the storeroom and then made a call. In minutes a truck pulled up and all the tools and lawn mowers were loaded. After they left, we screamed for help, and it was only at 04:30 that some passer-by came to our rescue and we discovered that the CCTV camera were turned upwards,” said the traumatised guard.
Police are investigating the case of armed robbery.
