Taking powerlifting to new heights

For 22-year-old Jeffrey Cook from the South the winning of a major competition in Gauteng has taken his powerlifting to new heights.

ALBERTON – Jeffrey from Winchester Hills, a personal trainer and dietician at the new state-of-the-art gymnasium Premium Fitness Centre in Meyersdal, has emerged as the overall winner of a power lifting competition in Lenasia.

He lifted 90 kg in the bench press and 260 kg in the dead lift to scoop the overall award and gold medal in the push-pull 2014 power lifting competition, hosted by the Rhino Powerlifting club at the Lenasia Trade route mall.

Looking back to where everything started, Jeffrey Cook has been doing fitness training for seven years, with special focus on powerlifting the past three years.

Jeffry is very grateful to Johannesburg South sports nutritionist James Miller from Perfect Physique within the Premium Fitness Centre for the role he plays in the opportunities given to him to achieve.
