Sisters hijacked in Palmridge

Two sisters, two hijackings, same culprits.

EDEN PARK – Two sisters were involved in two different incidents of hijacking only a couple of minutes apart at about 06:30 on Tuesday, September 23.

Carmen Govender and her fiance, Randall Ners, was hijacked in front of their parents’ residence in Palmridge. The hijackers then used the hijacked gold Ford Fiesta to follow Sade Govender (Carmen’s sister), who was driving a Polo 1.

Sade was on her way to pick up people who work with her in Alrode. It is suspected that they have been watched for some time, and that the hijackers knew which route and routines of the sisters.

Fortunately for Sade, she switched off the engine at her next stop, where the hijackers approached her and pointed a gun at her demanding the keys. The hijacker could not manage to start the vehicle and fled on foot. He was picked up by the other two accomplices driving the hijacked Fiesta, and they set off through the graveyard towards Thokoza.

Mr Goliath from Erstcombus was on the scene to assist and console the two sisters.
