Patrons of the Little Eagle Spur in the Lemon Tree shopping centre in Alberton started assaulting Bradley after he allegedly threw a glass in their direction. SAPS Alberton was notified of the assault.

A docket has been opened and an investigation is under way. The six suspects were arrested on the scene. They are charged with murder and will appear in the Palmridge court on Tuesday June 24.

“Our hearts go out to the parents and family of the deceased,” commented Pierre van Tonder, CEO of the Spur Group. “We take this matter very seriously and will continue to co-operate fully with the authorities in this heartbreaking situation.”

Brett Milligan, Little Eagle Spur Franchise owner, said: “We have been in touch with his family, and extend our sincere condolences to them at this time.”

  1. Where were the center security? How come no one at Spur controlled his before it go out of hand? A total disgrace. I will never eat there again. Center management need to be sued for damages.

  2. this is absolutely pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! why was it left to get this bad??????? where was security??????????? IS THERE SECURITY????????

  3. Absolutely disgusting!!!!! I go there with my son as Spur is a family restaurant. Where are we supposed to go now that is child friendly and safe to enjoy a meal?

  4. This Spur is very well know in the Alberton community and even though I am from Bardene I have had the misfortune of having to go to this venue many times with my family that lives in Alberton. You can’t complain about the service because you don’t get any. The child minders are useless and unfriendly, the waiters always gets the orders wrong, and the manager is conveniently MIA when a complaint is due. I feel pain and sadness for the parents and friends of Bradley. How could this have gone so far where was the manager, the waiters, the security of the shopping centre. Never again!!!!!

  5. I lost my sons father to crime of violence. I was pregnant at the time so when I hear about this outrageous behaver my heart bleeds as a mom. To loose a child is tragic but to crime of anger rage is outrageous. They need to stop this now before young people loose their lives over violence.

  6. A person doesn’t just out of the blue throw a glass at someone, what happened prior to this and why wasn’t it noticed and reported to management or have we also degraded to a society that just casts a blind eye because it’s convenient for us. Everyone on “duty’ on Sunday night at Spur should be held accountable for this.

  7. This truly disgusting and outrageous…. no security, no panic button no intervention from the management and staff. Will never support Spur again – what a “family restaurant”!

  8. There are no words , an innocent life was lost , and what Cowards they are that six of them had to beat one person to death , my only comment is that justice must be served and maybe getting a bit of your own medicine is the perfect justice

  9. Sounds like the Lemon Tree is a breeding ground for this kind of thing? My ex husband was beaten up by about 11 guys in the Car park – in front of my daughters about 3 years ago.
Why does this need to happen. Humans are becoming more and more barbaric.
