Delayed demolishing of Alberton CBD bus terminus still a concern

The City of Ekurhuleni promised to have the Alberton CBD bus terminus building demolished by no latter than June last year, but to date, the building is still not yet levelled.

Residents in the surrounding areas are still concerned about the delayed demolishing of the Alberton CBD bus terminus.

The facility was originally intended to house a licensing drive-through to relieve the Alrode Licensing Department of its workload.

The Executive Mayor of the City of Ekurhuleni Tania Campbell, the MMC of Transport Planning Alco Ngobese and other officials visited the dilapidated bus depot on June 3, 2022.

This visit was part of Campbell’s back-to-basics approach to service delivery. The site visit also focused on monitoring the city’s infrastructure.

Despite the City of Ekurhuleni’s vow to have the Alberton CBD bus terminus building demolished by the end of June 2022, they have not yet levelled the building.

The Alberton Record has again sent this query to the relevant departments of the city for a comment regarding the demolishing process.
