Ekurhuleni council leaves resident stranded

A Brackenhurst resident was left in limbo because service delivery was an inconvenience.

ALBERTON – A community member of Alberton reported electricity problems in Brackendowns on April 24.

The complaint was from a resident in Palala Street regarding her electricity being switched off the previous day.

She could not get through to EMM on two occasions on that morning.

The only contact she could get through to was the call centre number the previous evening.

According to the community member, an EMM call centre employee said on the phone that if she was on the list, the problem would be addressed, and that the EMM call centre employee could not assist.

On April 30 the community member said that she had gone through on April 25 to EMM, and the situation had been dealt with after a while. Wen she asked the EMM representative about the EMM emergency number 011 999 0010 that just rings, he replied that it is not his department.
