WATCH: Praying for strength for our frontline

All three hospitals receive prayer simultaneously from 11am to 11.30am on Sundays.

On January 9 about 40 Christian community members united in prayer outside Mulbarton Hospital, Clinton Hospital and Union Hospital.

“In an atmosphere of sincerity, they asked God for the healing of patients and strength to health workers of their community,” said the organisers.

Hospital management, staff members, doctors, nurses and patients were touched by this events.
It all started with a WhatsApp group

Two friends put together a WhatsApp group with five to eight people, but the group grew and a week later they had 120 participants

Group members are from different churches, and faith groups, some praying from their homes.

“We realised that many people are hungry to pray outside hospitals during the lockdown period. And now with the second wave of Covid-19 people are even more hungry to pray for our essential workers and sick patients.

“All they need is a date, time and place and they show up. We hope to inspire communities of other areas to form their own prayer groups and pray for the hospitals in their areas. It is as easy as starting a WhatsApp group. All hospitals need prayer,” said the organisers.

Photos and videos were spread widely on social media and touched even more people’s hearts.

Join them

People from the area are welcome to join them on weekdays from 6.45pm to 7.15pm.

“We are praying at the Mulbarton Hospital on Tuesdays, at the Clinton Hospital on Wednesdays and at the Union Hospital on Thursdays.”

All three hospitals receive prayer simultaneously from 11am to 11.30am on Sundays.

Join the group by picking one of the above-mentioned hospitals and go pray.

“If it rains, we will park and pray. Park in the parking lot, remain in your car, flash your head lights and pray.”

All participants at the hospitals adhere to Covid-19 regulations and wear masks and practise social distancing without blocking entrances.
