We read your article about the R59 recyclers and we would just like to say we think they are doing a fantastic job of recycling.
We live in Hermina Street in Brackenhurst and each Monday the recyclers collect all the bins from the whole street and go through it to take out recyclable items. Once they are done, there is no sign of any litter on the pavements.
Our country is facing a huge problem with landfills being full and we desperately need to do more recycling. It would be such a decent thing if all homes would separate their recyclable items from the other garbage and in this way help out the recyclers.
The “residence” of these recyclers off Swartkoppies off-ramp is becoming an eyesore.
It would be great if the municipality could build a wall around the area to contain all the different items being recycled and ablution facilities could make their lives a little better too.
