A couple from Eden Park were arrested on December 10 at 7.50am in Leyland Street after a tip-off from community members.
EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit entered the premises and upon their search they found a digital portable scale, two medium bags full of empty zip locks, a large zip lock of straws (paraphernalia), 126 small and medium zip locks of khat valued at R30 000 with R6 760 cash. Khat is a stimulant drug that is basically in the leaves and buds of the khat plant. A male (43) and a female (34) were arrested and taken to the Eden Park Police Stations.
A case of possession and dealing in illicit substance were opened against them.
