The National Commissioner of Police General Khehla John Sithole, while condemning the killing of two police officers in Winchester Hills, south of johanessburg last night, November 23 has ordered an unrelenting manhunt for those responsible.
According to Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo, Spokesperson for the National Commissioner of Police, “Last night, November 23, around 8pm, Captain and a Warrant Officer responded to a hi-jacking complaint at Leonie Street, Winchester Hills shortly after he visited the Booysens Police Station as the duty officer. ”
Two members of SAPS came under fire and they were both fatally wounded at Vleiroos Street while on their way to the complaint. added Vishnu Naidoo
The hijacked vehicle has since been recovered in Klipspruit, Soweto.
