JP Morgan Corporate Challenge at Wanderers

Some 14 000 competed in the 2019 JP Morgan Corporate Challenge.

SOME 14 000 runners took to the streets in and around Wanderers Club to compete in the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge on March 28.

This is one of the most anticipated challenges around the world and the Johannesburg leg once again proved to be a great success.

It was the 16th consecutive year this leg took place in South Africa. The runners took on the challenge to compete for the title of the fastest time between the dynamic cities.

In Johannesburg, representing Implats, Samuel Matsepe was the first male to cross the finishing line in 17 minutes and 25 seconds.

The first woman to cross the finishing line was Mia Morrison, representing Investec, in 21 minutes and eight seconds.

The challenge strives to make a difference through a donation to a non-profit organisation in each host city. The Laureus Sport for Good Foundation South Africa is the selected beneficiary for the sixth consecutive year.

The race also attracted South African entertainment icons and sporting greats, such as Cynthia Tshaka, Natalie du Toit, Dean Furman, Morné du Plessis, Lunga Shabalala, John Smith and Butch James, showing their support to the Laureus Foundation.
