SPCA ready for your pets as December approaches

BEFORE we know it, it will be December and the Alberton SPCA is already taking bookings at their kennels for the festive season.

If you are going away for the festive season, you cannot leave dogs and cats without care. It is important to make suitable arrangements in advance as kennel spaces get booked up quickly. If you are planning to go away, please ensure you have made suitable plans for the care of your pets.

“It is important you get your pet booked in early to ensure you are not disappointed. We only have limited space at Alberton SPCA,” Vanja Ingold told the RECORD.

To book your pet at Alberton SPCA, you must become a member of the SPCA at a cost of R50 per annum. Your pet’s vaccinations must be up to date as proof will be required by the boarding kennel/cattery in question.

Vaccinations must be done at least 10 days prior to their entry into the kennels, otherwise the SPCA have the right to refuse the pet in question for admission.

“If you wish to book a place, please contact the office on 011 907 1568, or alternatively come to our offices in Lincoln Road, General Alberts Park, to complete the necessary paperwork. A 50 per cent deposit is required for all boarders with the balance paid on admission.

“Please don’t leave your pet arrangements to the last minute since the kennels get booked up quite quickly,” Vanja said.
