Sentinel Security’s patrol vehicle passed by a notorious cable theft section on its way to assist on an alarm activation and noticed suspects in the field.
The tactical officers were dispatched to the area to investigate and spotted a suspect who ran into the field and evaded officers.
Shortly after another suspect was found lying in the long grass next to the hold dug up area to gain access to copper cables.
One suspect was apprehended and implements for copper cable theft were found in his possession.
The SAPS was contacted and the suspect was handed over for further proceedings.
Sentinel is currently following up further leads on the syndicate revolving around Hennie Alberts Street for copper cable theft for Telecoms.
