THE hijacker of the Porche Cayenne was killed instantly on April 3 when he lost control of the vehicle, was flung out of the vehicle and impaled by palisade fencing.
This happened at about 2.15pm on the N3 northbound between the Heidelberg on-ramp and Grey Avenue exit. The hijacked Porsche was involved in a single-vehicle accident when the driver lost control on the slippery roadway and the car rolled. The driver was flung out and impaled on the palisade fencing at a Verwoerdpark suburb situated parallel to the freeway. The driver, in his early twenties who could not be identified at the time, was killed instantaneously.
The owner of a white Porsche Cayenne SUV was hijacked of his vehicle when he was stopped by a white sedan flashing blue lights at Hekpoort in Magaliesburg area on March 24.The victim was kidnapped, assaulted and his personal belongings, including cellphones and cash, was taken. He was later dumped in the Edenvale area. The hijacking and kidnapping occurred around 10am in Hekpoort and the victim was dumped in Edenvale around 4pm.
“Police investigations are underway to identify the dead driver as well as to find out how and why the hijacked vehicle was in his possession. The Porsche was a complete write-off,” said chief superintendent Wilfred Kgasago, EMPD spokesperson.
