Mindful kids: Five of the world’s most popular cartoons

Although most of them are animals, they teach us how to be human.

HEY kids! Cartoons are loved by children (and even adults) around the world. It shapes our fantasies and nurtures creativity. We learn about life from these characters and, even though most of them are animals, they teach us how to be human. Here are five of the world’s most popular cartoons.

THE SIMPSONS: This is the longest running American animated show with over 630 episodes since its creation in 1989. It was created by Matt Groening and was the first cartoon with adult themes. Today, it has its own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
LOONEY TUNES: Created in 1930 by Leon Schlesinger during America’s golden age for animation, its massive success lead to world-fame, many awards, films, comic books, music albums, video games, amusement park rides and all sorts of merchandise imaginable.
ROAD RUNNER: Here is a perfect example of a cartoon that was influenced by Tom and Jerry. It was created in 1948 by Chuck Jones and, despite having only 48 short cartoons released with a half an hour special and one feature-length movie, it remains famous in its own way.
MICKEY MOUSE: Of course you’ve heard about Mickey Mouse, who hasn’t? This is why it’s considered as the most iconic cartoon of all time since its creation in 1928. Needless to say, it was created by Walt Disney and is the mascot of Disney’s legacy. This white-gloved mouse also has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
