Charity golf day in aid of at-risk children

To raise funds, it will cost R1 200 per person for four-balls. A light dinner and prizes will also be included.

THE Royal Family Kids group of Alberton, who also call themselves the i4118 Foundation, will be hosting a four-ball golf day on March 27 in aid of at-risk children.

“The international Royal Family Kids Programme is there to help abused and neglected children, aged nine to 12,” said Gavin Meyers, founder of the i4118 Foundation.

“Its goal is to change these kids’ lives by creating new happy memories.”

“To achieve this,” he added, “we host an annual camp over five days where the children have access to a variety of activities designed to encourage self-worth and confidence. For most, this week is the best week of their year where they get to be a child and have fun. Each of them get to celebrate their birthday and we host a themed gala dinner for them where they are treated like VIP guests.

“We were able to treat 24 children last year and feedback always indicates an improvement in behaviour – many become bold and are able to interact with others in a positive manner,” said Gavin.

The golf day will take place from 10.30am at the Reading Golf Club on March 27. To raise funds, it will cost R1 200 per person for four-balls. A light dinner and prizes will also be included.

Sponsors are much needed as well – anyone kind enough to sponsor between R2 000 and R4 000 will receive great recognition at the event, as well as other rewards.

For more details, or to RSVP, please contact 061 340 0681 or email dee@sasisa.co.za. With regret, no alcohol will be allowed at the sponsored holes.
