BREAKING NEWS: Body found in Newmarket

The body was found by passers by.

THE body of a man estimated to be in his 50’s has been found on the corner of Heidelberg and Ascot roads, Newmarket Alberton.

At around 9am on July 21, the body was found by passers by.

“The scene was officially attended by our members. The deceased has been taken to Germiston Government Mortuary” said Capt Manare Ramotshela, spokesperson for the Alberton SAPS.

It is unclear what the cause of death was, but a source who would like to remain anonymous says it appears to be a worker for the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.

“A case of inquest has been opened and will be registered for police investigation,” added Ramotshela.
