Dark street has Brackendowns resident frustrated

"Criminals can use this darkness to their advantage to rob people, break into the houses, or Heaven knows what else."

I recently moved to Brackendowns about three months ago. From the first day of being a resident, I’ve struggled with the municipality to fix the six or seven streetlights in Andries Street, which have not been working at all.

I work night shifts but when I drive home at night, I can barely see where my house is – I’ve driven past it several times already. Criminals can use this darkness to their advantage to rob people or to break into the houses – heaven knows what else they could get up to. It’s so dangerous.

I’ve being trying, to no avail, to get the municipality to come and fix these lights, but I keep getting referred to different people over the phone and I’m getting nowhere.

I have two reference numbers: 2526302 and 2586196. I’m hoping this article will get them to do something – I am at my wit’s end.
