Baby Caylum is one step closer to Boston
The Willemse family is currently waiting for a fixed date from Boston as they also celebrate Caylum turning nine months old today.
FOLLOWING the unwavering support of our fellow South Africans spearheaded by 947, baby Caylum Willemse is going to Boston after the foundation reeled in a whopping R7.5-million for Caylum to get to Boston.

The Willemse family is currently waiting for a fixed date from Boston as they also celebrate Caylum turning nine months old today (October 12). Although nothing is confirmed Wayne Willemse, father of Caylum, said they are expecting the operation to be performed sometime in November.

“We have had quite a long journey and had so many people involved and donating that there is no words that can explain it. The Alberton RECORD has gotten us tons of followers by sharing Caylum’s story and doing follow-ups. We just want to thank you guys for getting involved in sharing his story,” said Wayne.
Wayne also told the RECORD that for the last two days they have been struggling with a bad temperature Caylum was facing and it peeked to 38.7 degrees Celsius.
“We are planning home nursing because Caylum is at risk of infection and viruses and we cannot afford him being sick before the flight. So in the next day or two Caylum will be home with a nurse and all the equipment that’s necessary so we can all be prepared if anything should happen. Netcare 911 and ER24 will be on call,” said Wayne.
