Celebrating four decades of ministry

Brackenhurst Methodist Church Women's Auxiliary celebrated its 40th birthday on Saturday, August 13.

IT was time to bring a little fantasy to life with a mad hatter party at the Brackenhurst Methodist Church.

Brackenhurst Methodist Church Women’s Auxiliary celebrated its 40th birthday on Saturday, August 13. It was a special occasion and the theme was Mad Hatter Tea Party. The hall was beautifully adorned with Alice in Wonderland decorations.

The women dressed up in many creative outfits and hats with a number of prizes for best outfit, most original, funniest and most elegant hat. Several guests including reverend Faan Myburgh, WA district president Mary Ellerbeck as well as friends and families of the members attended the celebrations.

Prof Joan Fairhurst was the guest speaker and shared her inspiring story about helping a rural woman obtain her doctorate in community development who in turn helped to develop a number of community projects to uplift her community.

Viv Giles put together a history of the Brackenhurst Methodist Church WA and it was amazing to hear how much the fellowship has done over the years both within the church as well as community outreach. All in all it was a great time of fun and fellowship to celebrate 40 years of ministry.
